Downloading Mage
Description: Mage is a molecular visualization tool used primarily
for teaching and demonstrations.
Platform: Windows, Macintosh, UNIX, and LINUX
Web: It can be used as a helper application

Step by Step Download:

Go to
ftp://kinemage.biochem.duke.edu (an
FTP program is recommended because of the binary transfer method, though
the web browser can sometimes be used)

Click on the directory that best fits your platform (i.e. PCprograms or
MACprograms)

After that Windows users choose Win31 or Win95
-
Now you should see a list of programs, among which should be the mage program.
Look for the one that is most recent (highest number in name) and fits
your system.

Click on it and save it to a new folder called Mage

Further instructions for UNIX users only: after down,loading you need to
type: "chmod +x <filename>" where <filename is the name of the program
you just downloaded. This will allow the program to be executed.
Talk to your system administrator with any other questions.
Set up for Web
Setup Your Web Browser (Netscape 4.0 recdomended)

Goto Edit/Preferences....

Choose Navigator/Applications (on the left).

Click on New Type... (on the right).

Fill in:
