BIOS 560 / 570 Fall 2003: Analysis of Microarray Data

Project for BIOS 560 / 570

A dataset will be given to you that has already been normalized / scaled. You will use this dataset to explore different statistcal algorithms in different programs and summarize your efforts in a presentation and report to be turned in on the last day of class December 3, 2003. The Following issues / questions need to be addressed:

  • Description of analysis tool and possible scenarios of when you would want to use it.
  • Using this tool, analyze the data given and explain the results obtained and their meaning.
  • Describe the different parameters associated with the analytical tool that are available and what they mean.
  • Explore how changing parameters within the tool changes the results obtained.
  • Summarize your findings with a recommendation of how to use the analytical tool chosen and with what parameters.
