Lasergene: Mac Install |
THIS PAGE IS FOR BIMCORE SUBSCRIBERS ONLY!
These are instructions to download the latest version, Lasergene 7.1. Please read and follow the directions thoroughly, as there are some important changes, such as the new keyserver at doc.bimcore.emory.edu (step 1).
Step 1: Send Your Information to BimCore
You need to e-mail Ali Pirani with the following information:
Unique Computer ID (can be found at the end of Step 2)
The Primary Investigator's name (BIMCORE Subscriber's name)
The physical location of the computer (e.g. Rollins #3025)
The primary user's full contact information.
You will first need to download the KeyAccess installer.
Locate the "KSClient.sea.bin" file. Double-clickit to begin the installation.
You will be required to enter your Mac login password to proceed. After entering the password then press OK. You will then see a panel with information resembling the following:
Enter the hostname of the Lasergene KeyServer which is "doc.bimcore.emory.edu".
After entering this information please press "OK".
Finally you will need to confirm the settings of the KeyServer Client.
Start KeyAccess Setup.
Make sure that "Synchronize clock with the KeyServer" and "Give hints for efficient use" are NOT checked. Finally, email Ali Pirani with your Unique Computer ID (found at the bottom of the KeyAccess window), your Primary Investigator's name, the physical location of the computer, and the primary user's full contact information.
Click "Logon" and you should receive a confirmation message.
You must now Restart your system for changes to take effect.
You will first need to download the Lasergene installer.
Locate the "maclasergene7.1.zip" file. Double-clickit to begin the installation.
Open the "maclasergene7.1" folder on your desktop and find the file Lasergene 7.1 Mac Install. Launch it by double-clicking it"
Launch "Lasergene 7.1 Mac Install".
You will be required to authenticate. Type your password into the box and press "OK".
Next, the DNASTAR Installer splash screen will appear.Press "Continue".
The LaserGene Software Agreement will appear.Press "Continue".
On the next screen, press "Agree".
Choose the destination, and click "Select Folder...".
Click "Install".
Click "Quit".
To test Lasergene, go to the Computer > Applications > DNASTAR > Lasergene. And run EditSeq.
If you see this message, or a similar message, then go back and complete Step 1.
